Kinkeliba (Combretum micranthum) is a shrub or vine that is native to West Africa and is used in traditional medicine and herbal tea: 

Appearance

A dense, reddish-brown shrub that can grow up to 20 meters tall. Young leaves are light green and shiny, but turn rust-colored in the dry season. 

Habitat

Grows in dry, arid climates, often in savannahs, crystalline rocks, and laterite. 

Uses

The leaves are used to make a popular herbal tea that is said to have many health benefits, including:

Digestion: Helps with gastrointestinal problems, colic, and vomiting 

Diuretic: Promotes diuresis 

Anti-inflammatory: Helps with skin problems like eczema and acne

Name

The name kinkeliba is thought to come from the Fulani language. In Wolof, it is called sekhew, and in Bambara, it is called ŋɔlɔbɛ.
